Polish Buff Laced chickens are a very rare breed of crested chicken. They are a European breed well known for their distinctive crests, also known as “top hats.” An older breed is believed to have originated in the Netherlands and dates back to the 14th century.

Known for being a docile breed, they are quite gentle but can be easily startled as their large crests limit their vision, making them easily startled.

Polish hens have rich golden feathers, carefully coated in creamy white with delicate slate-blue legs and toes.

Their flowing crests of feathers, coupled with a lively demeanor, make them one of the most prized breeds of chicken.

This species comes in two varieties: bearded and beardless. When ordering from a breeder, buyers usually get both.

Hens are productive egg layers and rarely go broody, producing clean white eggs.

Chicks are a creamy beige colour with a dark tan marking above each eye.
